Ya, the Northwest seems to have had a rash of them, this is the first time I've experienced it, but yes, the 10v 2.3 that I built up uses 35mm Inconnel exh. valves, those things are good to 2k F.
I've never seen an intake valve go, I'd use the stock steel ones, probably not worth the expense to change them. I used 40mm NG valves in the 2.3.
