anyone mod their own mufflers?

Please, be nice the rest of us!
I have very good hearing. Harleys give me a headache, as do the
numerous cars around here with tampered ex-mufflers. Mufflers are
supposed to turn the sound of a series of violent explosions into
something more civilised, suitable when you're sharing the area around
you with other living things. Don't make them less effective. It's
simply inconsiderate.
