Passenger Mirror

Something inside my passenger side mirror housing must have busted.  The auto mirror still turns but the mirror housing won’t sit quite right.  I was advised to just go out and acquire substitute mirror housing from a junk yard – which I just did.

I would appreciate some advice on how to take the old mirror housing off and how to install the new housing.  Someone had mentioned that taking off the old and putting on the new was a simple matter of removing three screws - doesn't look that way now that I have the substitue mirror housing in hand (it has a foot long wire pig tail attached which leads me to believe that I will have to remove door panel etc.)
