If not then drive forward in 1st gear shift into nuetral coast to stop.
50 feet is far enough.
Then back up in reverse, push clutch in, (shift to nuetral) coast to stop.
Diff should disengauge.
The above is overkill but ensures no binding in the drive line for
disengaugement.

The indicator light is triggered by the actual operation inside the
differential. It should turn off if you just drive car a small
distance. (like 10-15 metres) When it is engaged, it usually takes
some movement in the drivetrain before it "slips" back out. Completely
normal behavior..
