tips on rebuilding my starter

I don't know what the starter brushes look like, but I have made
alternator brushes from "the next closest thing" at the hardware store.
Had to file them down a bit.

Also, I suspect the dealers might have them.  If you have a friendly,
competent parts department to work with, at least.
