Welcome to the list. I agree that the shimmy is most likely
caused by warped rotors.  I've heard reports that you can
unwarp them by heating the rotors (try lots of high speed
stops to get the disks almost red hot) and let them cool by
driving (a full stop will let the pads sit over one spot, causing
uneven cooling).  It's free, and may work for you. YMMV.

As for bushings, it seems like the mileage is too low. A4 have
problems with control arms, but I don't know about the A6.
I've replaced bushings on my '89 200 TQ, but it has 230+K
miles on it.
