Smell of Gasoline ?

Hi Everyone !

I hope Spring is beginning to reach all of you, if you have a winter.  It's not quite here yet :-)

The back end near rear wheels of my car smell like gasoline every time I drive my car.   My husband reports that he cannot find a leak anywhere, and he tells me that the fuel pump doesn't leak.   ? ? ?

I know there is something wrong with my car as I should not smell gas every time I walk near the rear wheels of open the trunk.    But the smell is strongest when I am near the rear wheels, not in the trunk.

Suggestions !   Thanks so much ~  This is on the 89 Audi 200 Turbo      :-))
