Running fuel lines through race cars is pretty common practice..if you use a
good bulkhead connector when passing through metal and a good quality braided
steel hose or steel hardline there should be no reason to have a fuel leak
inside your car or outside of it for that matter (neither of which are very
good).
Also an inertia switch installed in the fuel pump power lead will shut the
fuel pump off immediately in the event of an impact, as well as the ecu
shutting off power to the fuel pump when engine rpm die.
