Interior Metalluc Flap Noise

I have a '91 Coupe with 82k miles.

About 500 miles or so, while driving with the glove box open, I noticed a
metallic noise sounding like a flap opening and closing randomly every couple
of minutes emanating right behind or above the glove box in the dash.

Now, I can hear the noise even with the glove box closed.

I changed the vent setting to see if the noise would change but this had no
effect on the frequency or the character of flapping noise.

Any BTDT experiences with such an interior noise.
