Hello again, Tom -- I used the earlier version of the E30 driveshaft support
on my 4000. I remember doing so because I renewed some driveshaft parts on
my '87 BMW 325ic a few months before I did the job on the Audi, and I
remember using the exact same part both times.

The newer part may work as well, but I know the older one does for sure.

I hate to be a pest with all these questions about replacing the center
support bearing but I do have one more.

I will be using the BMW part but I am not sure as to which one to use.

There is one for the 87 325e and 87 325i and yet another for the later
models (88-91).

Can anyone with the experience point me in the right direction?
