Cleaning coolant overflow tank

Hi Russ!!

Can CLR be used to flush entire cooling system by
running the engine, say 10 minutes or so, without
adverse effects?

"Mercedes-Benz specifies citric acid to clean out 
cooling system scale."

Where can one get that stuff, besides the stealership?
