VW / Audi did end up finally fixing all of the sealing problems, after 
about '71. Unfortunately by that stage the Ro80 was seen as quite 
unreliable. I do know of some of the later ones that have done a couple 
of hundred thousand miles without being torn down.

Audi content: it is amazing how much these cars are like the earlier 
Audi's. I have a couple of them and I have noticed quite a few things 
that Audi must have 'borrowed' from them after they bought them.
