My brother had a Mazda with the rotary engine in the late 80s and it was one 
unending problem so far as the engine seals were concerned. By the time the 
engine had 50k miles on it it needed a complete rebuild. I forget what the 
warranty was on it, but he had a tough time getting the dealer to do any work 
on it.
