I can think of lots of possibilities, including an arbor press?

a HD electrical crimper?

or perhaps a pnuematic punch/flange tool? (probably the least likely to
be succesful)

It's possible a bike brake cable would be the right dia, but I dunno if
it's gonna be long enough. Shifter cable would almost surely be too
small.

Now, my question:
A friend suggest me (for the crimps) to crush a 6mm nut over the cable

with a BFH.
I would like a more "elegant" solution, if one is available easily.
I think Dan Cordon asked this very same question not too long ago; what

did you find, Dan?
