WG problems - testing

Ah, the KH motor? I would not worry so much about the diaphragm, as I would
the wg frequency valve. The diaphragms are made of Kevlar and are very
durable. The wgfv has a tendency to fail, and it is also easy to install it
incorrectly. You may be hearing normal boost pressure blow-off by the wg.
First thing I would do though, is to make sure your boost pressure is up to
spec (max 1.3-1.4 bar on the KH?). No over/under boost problems, no wg/wgfv
issues ;~}
HTH,
Jim

Ya, I'm worried due to the noise. I haven't tested the boost yet as this is
a freshly rebuilt motor and I don't want to strain it yet till I get at
least a couple thousand miles on it. (I also still have to bleed the brake
system after replacing the MC). I thought that a bad WG diaphragm would
cause overboost, but I'm not sure if this would cause a leaking sound.
Sorry I should have mentioned this is for a '85 5kT, pretty much the same as
the MC setup. Thanks.

Ameer,
Why are you testing the wg funcitonality? Do you have a boost leak, or are
you checking simply b/c of the noise you mention above? Are you not making
full boost? What is the year/model of the patient?
