'83 Coupe GT oil light problems

Ben - you are correct, this problem was recently discussed in conjunction
with my posting regarding a similar situation with my 89 100q. The issue was
that the computer would flash the "oil can" warning, but everything else
seemed normal. Not being familiar with your '83, I'm not sure if you have a
computer on board.

The majority of the responses pointed towards a short or connection on the
back of the instrument panel. Everything about my oil gauge was fine, it
didn't act like yours.

I just finished a long drive through the mountains, with no problems. Its
the first long hot drive I've done since changing the oil from 10/30 to
10/40. And since the problem appeared. I'm not sure if changing the oil
solved the pressure problem, but the warning didn't activate at all today,
so I am wondering if the change had something to do with it or if it is
merely a Audi electrical gremlin. Holding my breath for now. . .
