I have a 272, with 2.5" cat back system.....
These 2 modifications are awesome....
But.....
On the 272 the 1990 90q idles like a Bi*ch.. I had to advance the static
timing as much as possible, think im on 16-18 btdc.... 24 degrees and it
idles perect, unfortunately that is way to advanced for driving....
The 272 is great, it all takes off at 4000 rpm and goes right thru to the
hard limiter..........
Downside is you will not be driving at low speeds in high gears anymore.....

Subject: 272 or 276 Schrick (sp?) cam
I'm considering getting a 272 or 276 cam for my '88 80 Quattro (daily
driver/track car).
I've heard these do not pass the idle portion of the smog test in
California.... I live in Washington, though. Do any of you Washington
types have any experience with this cam and its smogability?
Also, do any of you have either of these cams in your cars, and if so, how
do you like them for additional power?
Thanks!
