quattro Digest, Vol 5, Issue 115 - Looking for HEX-COM

To add to the serial to PCMCIA adaptor comments w/rt HEX-COM (mAC),
we work with those blasted things at the school wehre I teach, used to
attach
a data logging device for sensors in Physics Labs. At the minimum, the
Belkin
adaptors are terribly unreliable, either refusing to be recognized by
either the
laptop or the data interface, or often when recognized, refusing to
transfer
data. We have been on the phone with the techs at both Belkin and PASCO,
but the units are still unreliable. And this is on a total of 16 units,
and the errors
seem to rotate around from machine to machine, so it's not just a single
unit
problem. We are switching to PASCO adaptors for the next school year,
but nonetheless, I wouldn't depend on those things to work with HEX-COM.
