Well, I got the fuel pump running. The connections to the pump were shot, namely the negative terminal. The screw on boot connector was missing and there was just wire wrapped around the neg. terminal and some epoxy crap on it. It was not fun scraping all that off but with the help of some wire brushes and contact cleaner I made a good connections.
I was happy when the fuel pump started running, and even happier when the car started and ran. I was not so happy when I cut the ignition and the car kept running ;)

I forgot that I still had 12v jumped into fuse 13 from trying to diagnose it. With the wire removed the fuel pump did not run in the on position. So, onwards - I'm thinking it's the fuel pump relay at this point because it had obviously been opened and resoldered, badly. I can flex the connections and see a visible break.
Next step is to resolder the relay (again) but I ran out of time this weekend.

I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks!
