Sorry, Doug...I don't have a part number (the part itself isn't marked with
one), but I think Stern will know just what you're talking about if you
inquire. The retaining mechanism is a kind of spring-loaded plunger that you
press in when inserting the wire. The spring tension then holds the wire in
the connector when you release the plunger. The connector takes 12 ga wire
with no trouble, and might take 10ga with a little fussing.

The connector itself is kind of funny looking, about 1-by -1 1/4 inch square
and very shallow, like 3/4 inch. The wiring attaches at the sides of the
connector, not at the back. I believe it's a Hella product. They aren't
cheap, about $10 each, but very durable and capable of maintaining a sound
connection for years (I've had 'em for 3-4 years).
