Sunroof liner attachment

Hi all,
This seems to be a subject that's been discussed at various points in
the past, but I've not really been able to find any foolproof
instructions, so I hope you'll bear with me if I'm bringing up an old topic.
The other day, part of the sunroof headliner came away from the sunroof
on my '91 Coupe. It's the part of the liner which lifts when the sunroof
is tilted, and it's come away on one side. There doesn't seem to be any
particular reason for this; nothing seems broken, it just came
unclipped. Peering through the gap when the sunroof is tilted, I see
that there's a bracket which clips onto the liner (which is actually the
bit that came off), and there's a horizontal pin on the sunroof itself
which runs in a groove in that bracket to lift the liner.
The question is, how on /earth/ do you get the pin to be in the groove,
and the bracket to be attached to the liner, at the same time,
particuarly given there's so little space to work in? Any suggestions as
to potential tools, tricks or knacks would be very much appreciated at
this point!
Many thanks
Richard
