bad used car shopping experience

>From a good friend looking to get into something quattro this weekend:
So I got kicked off a used car lot today by a couple of bullies.
I'm trying to help my parents get a car. I'm down in Chicago today
because I had to drive in VERY early in the morning to moderate a
business Q&A thing.
Saturday, I walked OUT of a dealer because they wouldn't budge on my
"no, your annoying car dealer ass is not coming on this test drive."
At this dealership (Fox Valley Auto Imports of Dundee, IL), my
position earned an eviction. I went to check out an A4 wagon.
Sales Guy #1 was the young sacrificial lamb. Gentle guy, probably
won't last more than 6 months in the business, if that. After he took
my license photocopy I asked him if he intended to come along for the
test drive.
I explained that for the last two cars I've bought, that wasn't
necessary or practiced. He stood firm. I then explained to him that I
don't allow salesmen to accompany me while I try on pants, either.
Now Guy #2 comes up. Big Zubaz fan, probably twice my weight, and he
has on one of those white T-shirts that costs $60 because it comes
with permanent wrinkles. He explains to me that Guy #1 is new, but
that it's for "insurance purposes" and my insurance won't cover it if
it has dealer plates on.
I basically ignored them as they babbled on about why they had to come
with on the test drive. Meanwhile, I'm going over the car very
carefully, taking down the VIN (which they neglected to post on
AutoTrader, a dubious sign), making some notes.
I knew we were in trouble when Guy #2 says "You're an intelligent
person... or I don't know, maybe it's just me."
Guy #1 is back, sees me doing the VIN thing and offers to get me the
CARFAX report. Not that I'm going to take his word for it but I say
"Yes, please" to give him something to do.
Clearly, though, I have been tabbed as an Educated Consumer, and
therefore an Enemy of the State.
The senior guy/owner/whatever (we'll call him Guy #3) clearly decided
that they weren't going to be able to rip me off and didn't want to
waste any time on me.
He chews me out for "abusing two of my staff" and insists that I leave
(I was in the process of getting the dirty floormats out of the cargo
area so I could check the spare: I was ordered to "put down the floor
mats.")
Part of the lecture involved the information that they have feelings too.
Of course, Guy #2 then advises me to "go abuse people at Sears or
KMart" (where apparently they don't have feelings.)
Guy #2 actually exhorts me to roll down my window so he can yell "go
milk a cow" at me on my way out. (I've got Wisconsin plates)
