2002 Allroad or A6 Avant?

Hi,

I'm thinking about pasturing my 87 4kcsq with 295K. Such a little sweetie,
all original, except for Bilsteins, window regulators and consumables.
But...

I need a wagon. Obviously the 2.7T has more power than a 3.0, but so does
almost anything compared to the 10V I-5 NA. What am I risking with an
allroad?

Anyone BTDT? Should I keep it simpler with a Avant?

Got a lead on a 2002 allroad with 25K miles for 28K. A cream puff.
