typ44-is "bulb monitor" needed when installing Blau's euro harness on '9120vtq?

when i installed Blauparts.com plug-n-play euro wiring harness on my early 
'86 5kT when i installed my eurolights a number of years ago, i didnt need this 
"bulb monitor" that ovverides the auto check systems "bulb out" warning 
light.. 
  is Blau's "bulb monitor" needed when installing eurolights and their 
harness on a 91 20vtq??   a friend of mine is looking to put eurolights on his '91 
20vtqA
