80 Quattro Turbo exhaust clearance

Sorry, but my turbo manifold exhaust leak experience is limited to my
miata. Here's a thought though- an easy way to track a boost leak is to
pressurize the intake. In the course of my work I sometimes have to inspect
exhaust systems for leaks, and that's exactly how we do it. Most of the
labs will have a fitting that will allow fixing a regulator to the tailpipe
and then we hook it up to the shop air. 3psi will do it.
