V8 hood

My 200q20v has the H4 Eurolights (slanted inward at the inner lower edges
of the lenses), and I just cut down the OEM square grill at the lower edges
so it'll fit between the lights. Not a pretty sight on close review, but
neither is the rest of the car. When I picked up a bunch of parts from
Steve Bednarski's rear-ended V8, he told me the hood would go right onto my
200, using the 200's original latches and core piece. I was getting the
front end as spares for our V8, and since we now have two V8s, I haven't
tried to switch hoods. Was he wrong? Somehow I got the impression he'd
done that hood switch or had seen it done.

I wouldn't do it if it required putting hood pins through the sheetmetal.
