$38 of wishful thinking, 4th gear synchros. are toast

It's in really nice shape otherwise and the transmission isn't really dead, either...4th gear is giving me fits, but otherwise the car runs and looks and drives like you would expect a 5KCSTQ with < 50k miles to!
Let's put it this way: I spent $1,500 on the car. If I have to spend an equivalent or even a greater amount of money to fix 4th gear, I will do so because of the rest of the car. I think it's worth it. When I drained the transmission there weren't any big pieces inside it, but so far it hasn't improved even with the Redline. I am now trying the Militec additive as a last resort, and I'll report the results here.
Here is the car:

I live in Chicago, in the city, and I don't have a place to put two cars. I don't even have a place to really put the parts from two cars, because I already spend $125 a month to keep this one garaged, and parking another one anywhere else isn't an option. That's life in the big city. I either have to fix this car or get rid of it, and the latter is not something I want to do AT ALL. Of course I can swap parts. Buying the requisite tools to work on an 016 transmission is the problem, and I won't do that -- I will outsource the job to a good transmission shop instead. So at this point, barring a Militec Miracle, I am looking for some people who have some recommendations about where I can take the car in Illinois to have the transmission pulled and the synchronizers replaced at a good price.
Cheers,
Alex
