No warning cut out

Did the fuel pump make more noise than usual after the shutdown, or is it
louder now? I had a similar experience with a year-old fuel pump in my
200q20v when I drove to PA from MI a in the summer of 2004. Car bucked
and burped if I tried to accelerate. Steve Bednarski suggested and
supplied Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel tank, along with some drygas and
some Stabil. I got back to MI with only a partial repeat of the symptoms,
but the pump was quite loud for the next six months. I took to carrying a
spare pump and a way to empty the gastank. I continued to pour in a couple
ounces of MMO with every fillup, and the noise disappeared during my trip
last spring to Colorado. I've not added any MMO since.
