window motor- internal "gearbox" jam?

Ok- how did you get the regulator apart itself?  I can't seem to get  
the spindle up+off, though I didn't try very hard, for fear of  
breaking the plastic.  Also, the case of the motor will come off  
somewhat, but not completely.

Oh year...does anyone know how the heck to separate the halves of the  
connector for the window switch? :-)
