One Piece Driveshaft

... since the two pieces are nominally co-linear it should be possible. My
thinking is that in a normal car there isn't enough clearance to allow the
shaft to move around with the engine/transaxle and rear diff. I suppose
that if you reduced the amount these bits can move relative to the body of
the car you could make it work.
My dad's '68 Ford had a drive shaft that had to be as long as the combined
lengths of the quattro shaft ... perhaps the way to skin the cat is to try
to find a car with a 1-piece shaft that's about the right length and then
adapt it for the Q. Since the drive flanges are removable you can probably
make something without that much fabrication ...
