What's wrong with driving fasteners on until they're loose but 'fully  
assembled'?  Using the air impact wrench on its lowest setting even  
when fed 100PSI will do squat on a lug nut beyond "finger tight", and  
it speeds up the job quite a bit...

As for electric guns- my father bought a Milkwalkee electric impact,  
and it worked as well or better than the air-impact; it seems to  
yield a lot more blows per second.  I prefer it over the air tool for  
getting lug nuts on/off.

Impact guns in general are the best thing since sliced bread.  It  
made changing the upper link in the rear suspension about a 5 minute  
job once the wheel was off.
