allroad query

Just got my '02 allroad, questions: 

1.how long should it take to raise/lower the
suspension? From squat to full stretch seems to take
forever, like maybe a full minute if not more? I mean
you don't want it zippin' up there at 100 mph either,
but it seems slow to me. Maybe I'll "test drive" a new
one to compare.

2. stupid little piece that holds the cargo cover in
place is broken on one side. So people can see me
cargo. Is there a non-dealer way to get that little
*ucker? (I'm guessing it's part of a big piece that
runs the length of the cover.)
