+1 on going direct the to the battery for an amp. even a mid-grade amp
like the kenwood can pull significant amperage - more than i'd be
comfortable running through stock audi wiring.
don't forget a fuse as close to the battery + term as possible [im
sure you wouldn't but just to be explicit]. the fuse is no good at the
amp end if the car gets hit and the wire is severed between battery
and fuse. spark + fire = bad.
the kenwood's aren't a high current design, and use regulated power
supplies IIRC, so it will limit the draw and subsequently the output.
or vice versa. =)
also +1 that 10awg is small. 8 is better. 4 is better but maybe
overkill. if you're running the length of the car use 4, if it's only
10' or so 8 is fine.
