BTDT....    On my '91 200 20v I suddenly had the same problem, shortly after
a shop had fiddled with the hood alignment. I fixed it by jacking up one
corner of the front end, which torqued the mounts just enough for it to
release. I then carefully re-aligned and lubed the pins and catches, and
have been free of that problem.  This presumes that the pull wires and guide
mounts are intact.  I do like the idea of a helper wire dangling from each
pin lever.
