The answer is yes.  If you want to confirm, add dye to the coolant and use
glasses and a UV light to trace.... that will make it much easier to
pinpoint the source.

Bottom line, a worsening water pump leak is a BAD sign.  Personally, I
wouldn't ignore it for 20K miles.  The risk is just too high.
