Very common problem. The easiest and cheapest is to pull it and have
it rebuilt, as Wilie said. If you choose to go with used or rebuilt
from Audi, you HAVE to make sure to match the part # of the one you
are pulling. Went through a headache on a customers car where they put
a used one in there, but it didn't match. We replaced it with a
rebuilt factory part matching the part # of the one on the car, that
didn't fix it either. Several days of labor and wire tracing later,
they brought the original in, and the part #'s didn't match. Put a
rebuilt in that matched that #, and the system was back to
opperational.
