Before you start bashing the GM product for an alternator failure at 85K,  
remember the thread started with an AUDI alternator failure at 85K!  Maybe  they 
source their parts from the same place. We should compare what the Dealers  
wants for the two replacement jobs......... that only reminds me that it looks  
like my thermostat is starting to act up in my 30v V-6 ........ I think that  
would run close to 2K at the Dealer .....another example of superb German  
engineering ....then there is the 4KQ Air Filter or the 80Q heater core  
or................sometimes I wonder why I own Audi's.
