I concur. I forgot about that. Check old threads about ign switch
replacement. The summary of my advise is to unhook the battery before
starting as it can throw an airbag code if you don't, and it's a 'sticky'
code that has to be cleared by a dealer or someone with a VAGCOM or
similar.

Changing the ign switch is a piece of cake by the way.  It is accessible
through he hole created after you remove the instrument cluster. The
instrument cluster will come out from behind the steering wheel without
removing the wheel. Nice.
