Valves and Guides cont.

Paul,

Valves are sodium filled to dissapate heat. However, materials have
gotten a lot better over the years, and this has become almost an
unnecessary practice. I've done a lot of 1.8T engines that have broken
TB's/bent valves. We replace them (the factory sodium filled valves)
with stainless valves, as the OEM's are about $70 each. I've not seen
anything wrong with them in all the cars I've done this on. And, at
$12 each, it saves our customers a lot of money.

However, if you are concerned about them, ask the guys over at 034. If
they run them in the engines they build, trust me, they are plenty for
anyone else also. They tend to overbuild their stuff.

Good luck with the build,
Tony
