Switchblade keys

Keys you get off FleaBay are likely to be money down a rathole. Some
outlets claim they'll work, but you have no guarantee. You have to pay to
have it milled to match the tumbler pattern and then to have the dealer try
to make the electronics work. I have two of the "best of EBay"
switchblades for our 2003 S8 that will work the door lock and ignition, but
the pushbuttons won't work. Only way to get a key that matches Audi's
specs (mine are both used Audi keys with new blades installed--it's the
chips inside that make the buttons work) is through the dealer.

So I've only got one key for the A8. What's the wisdom on where to get
new keys? Most that I see on eBay have no electronics inside which
obviously won't work out well in my case. Anybody ever bought one from
the dealer? I'm thinking maybe the dealer would be worthwhile since I
get wholesale pricing and it would have to be cut there anyways.
