exactly - the torsen is never locked - that means a non-variable 50/50
split betweeen axles, or drive wheels, like on truck axles. at steady
state, straight driving [highway] the torsen isn't really doing much -
there is no differential action fore/aft.

i don't know why / what could cause so much discussion on this? i'ts
not that complex. the new diff in the b8 cars [a4, a5, s5] is 10x more
intricate in how it operates. Still an all-gear unit, but far more
complex. taking our guys a while to crack the code on getting a higher
bias out of it.
