The bushing is at the terminus of the rod that goes from the shifter mechanism (in the car) to connect from a rod that exits the transmission housing by way of another ball socket. When I get home I will look up the part number so I can download the diagram.
Delrin is a crystalline thermoplastic polymer that possesses many qualities that make them a leading choice for machined plastic parts. It's properties include low water absorption, superior creep resistance, high tensile strength, and high melt point. The low water absorption, coupled with the high tensile strength and modulus, relate to an ability to maintain excellent dimensional stability in close tolerance fabricated parts. The chemical resistance of delrin includes resistance to hydrocarbons, solvents and neutral chemicals. In addition, most of the materials properties are maintained in operating temperatures up to 180 F. The combination of the physical properties and ease of fabrication makes delrin an excellent choice for machined mechanical parts. (stole description on line!)
I would suspect this could be a preliminary cause of shifting issues, I will let you know when we get more available so that you can investigate whether you will need one.

I have a 1986 type 44 with 302,000 km, the car has to be still when the
transmission is cold shifting from N to 1, otherwise there is no problem
shifting.
Would I need one of those delrin parts?
My mechanic has never mentioned that part.
Delrin is what kind of material?

bushing
Took my 86 5ktq to the shop due to sloppy gear linkage that was making it
tough to get in 1st and 2nd. We found out that the part, a nylon bushing
was no longer available. One of my mechanics said that he used to keep a
number of them in stock due to the high failure rate, but he hasn't any more
available!
Long story short, rather than discard the car for lack of a simple part, we
decided to fabricate a replacement out of delrin, and this item should be
superior to the nylon part. If you also need one (or want a spare) I can
make some for you.
