Blasted Alarm!

Isn't there a button to turn off that sensor near the bottom of the pillar? 
I've never tried it but came across it as I cleaned the car one day. I've 
tried to leave the windows open and have the car locked with no success. 
Never thought much of it, but yeah the alarm goes off. I never investigated 
it.
