I have pulled the blower motor on my '91 20 valve three times. The first
time is tough, but the trick is to get a 2x4 about 4' long and rest one end
on a wood block at the edge of the engine bay. Then using two wire coat
hangers shaped into circles, hook one on each end of the blower housing over
the 2x4 and simply lift up on the free end of the 2x4. Viola...!! The
housing comes right up.
To reseal it use the standard 3/4" by 1/4" foam tape and make sure you have
it carefully fit to the housing or it will leak in heavy weather.
Somewhere in the archives is my description of the entire process, including
replacing motor brushes, etc.
