Locked Out

Gary,
The infrared remote will not work after the car's locks have not been operated in 7 days. IIRC from the manual, the vaccuum locking system is designed to go in "standby?" to save battery power. Whenever the same thing happens to my UrS6 I manually unlock the door with the key in the door lock, close door and then lock it with the infrared key fob and the system is in sync again. If you can't unlock the driver's side door while inserting the key in the lock try opening up the passenger side manually with the key. Hope this helps.

> Subject is a 1994 S4. I locked the vehicle with the remote and upon returning home after a weeks absence I discovered that the remote wouldn't unlock the doors. To my surprise I can't unlock the doors with the key. I'm assuming that the battery is discharged but because the doors wopn't unlock I can't access the battery to charge it. Any ideas on how to ge into the car will be greatly appreciated.
