Cleaning EGR Valve

Anyone know if the EGR valves on the type 44's could be cleaned out with
Carb cleaner in the same way that ISV valves often can be? If so, might it
be possible to simply spray the carb cleaner into the vacuum hose connector?
I know that ideally its best to get it out and soak it overnight in carb
cleaner but the EGR valve looks look like it can be removed very easily.

Thanks for any thoughts
