Would NG engine mate to 4KQ tranny/chassis?

The heads are different.  NG has injectors in the IM, NF/JT in the head. 
  No cross-compatibility there, and the NG IM doesn't "line up" the 
throttle body in a convenient place for the 4kq stuff.  Of course, 
"anything can be made to fit", but for 15 hp is it worth all that work?
