Early type 44's. WAS: Brake drag

The first type 44's (Audi 5000) were sold as 1984 models but were here in
late 1983.  I have parted 2 1983 model year type 44s, but I suspect they
were grey market or Canadian imports.  
On the V8Q list, we found that many of the 1990 V8Q's here in the US had
very early build dates, the earliest, IIRC, being February of 1989.
