There are readily availiable VRs for 30 bucks on ebay for the V8 and 5k last
I checked.  You may try to get that and see if it works,  and it could also
be a good donor if you can't find brushes at all.  Also,  thought about
swapping alternator sizes at all?  Maybe check your local JY as well.  Just
thoughts on the matter.
