I'll add a few things here.
Valeo is also an OEM VAG supplier, and good quality from my experience.
The key to getting the slave out is to get it to rotate. Once it's free
that way, it will come out, though it will still take some persuasion. You
are lucky there is still some life left in it, as it makes removal easier.
Wedge something (like a 2x4) in between the pedal and the seat to hold the
pedal to the floor. THe pressure pushing out on the slave will help you a
lot. BTW, I recommend pulling the slave first, then the master.
Also, you can usually just clean and reassemble them, though on occasion
you will find a torn/scuffed seal. THis goes for both the master and slave.
Last I checked, you can get slave rebuild kits, but not masters.
When you go to rotate the slave, don't use the bleeder or line to pry on,
they will break rather easily. There should be a tab coming off the slave
toward teh top, on the right side. I pry on this from the transmission, and
it has worked great for me. You can also heat the trans, then spray with
something to cool/lubricate it if needed. Sort of a poor mans heat cycle.

Tony
